PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE was founded to assist those citizens of Fauquier County who are in immediate need. In 2004, we assisted over 600 individuals with their rent, utilities, fuel, and prescription medicines. Our staff consists of all volunteers and our office space and utilities are donated thereby allowing us to use approximately 96% of our funds for assistance to the needy. In doing so, we have prevented many evictions, utility turnoffs and fuel interruptions. We have also helped many clients with their prescription drug needs.
The PATTERSON PROJECT was undertaken by People Helping People to help rebuild the Patterson home which was burned to the ground in 2002. With special fundraising, we were able to rebuild that home and we are very proud of the fact that construction was completed last year in 2004.
We are proud of our service to the community and would not be able to accomplish what we do, without the aid and funding of PIEDMONT UNITED WAY.
