Your Donation Makes A Difference

You can make a difference Working Here in Our Community
Our local United Way uses your donations throughout the Piedmont area (Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange & Rappahannock Counties) to strengthen families, build character, promote self-sufficiency, improve health and support people who really need help, including youth, senior citizens and those with disabilities. Experienced community volunteers, knowledgeable of local needs, monitor these programs to ensure money is well spent.

How Much Should I Give?
Your contribution makes a big difference in the lives of people in our five-county area. Roughly one in every five people in our area are touched by a United Way program or service.

How much you give is up to you. Many people ask, however, how much they should consider giving. United Way's basic guideline for many years has been one-hour's pay per month. This amounts to 6/10 of one percent of your pay and when you used easy payroll deduction you will hardly notice it. You may also want to consider a larger donation of 1 % or 1 ½ % of your pay.

United Way also recognizes the following levels of annual Leadership Giving:

The Piedmont Society
Bronze Level $250-$499
Silver Level $500-$999
Gold Level $1,000-$2,499
Platinum Level $2,500-$4,999
Diamond Level $5,000-$9,999
Individual contributors of $10,000 or more become members of the national Alexis de Tocqueville Society.

Give where you live.
If you commute to work, be sure to designate your contribution to the Piedmont United Way. If you work for the Federal government you can designate #13502 on your CFC pledge form. If you work for the Commonwealth of Virginia you can designate # 4500 on your CVC pledge form. If you give through another United Way campaign, please write in the Piedmont United Way. Read more on the page about Workplace Campaigns.
